Each season starts with a league practice where we evaluate the skill level of our players. We call it a “Player Combine” to make it more fun. It takes place on April 7th with two sessions. The first session is at Sobrato HS and the second is at Brownell MS. You can attend the most convenient location. The times are:
Sobrato HS 11:30am-1:30pm
Brownell MS 2:30pm-4pm
Groups will be run in brackets in 90-120 minute increments. The Player Combine is run by SVFFL staff as well as coaches and parents.
The Player Combine includes a series of skill evaluations that assist us with balancing teams. We will use the data we collect when setting teams and schedules. Each child will be tested for the following skills:
- 40 Yard Dash (20 Yard Dash for 5U and 7U brackets)
- Agility
- Passing
- Receiving
Unlike its pro Namesake, our Players’ Combine doesn’t lead to multimillion dollar contracts, 😊 but it does facilitate team balancing for a fair and competitive season. Registration continues for the next couple of weeks, however late fees may ensue and the buddy requests become more difficult to fulfill. Prospective players are encouraged to register and attend.
