Field Policies

The Five! has three primary facilities: Ann Sobrato HS and The Outdoor Sports Center in Morgan Hill and well as South Valley MS in Gilroy. Each facility has user policies. They are:
Ann Sobrato High School:

Dogs are strictly against district field policy, and we will lose our field permit, thereby ending our season if they see dogs on the school grounds. (Including the cars in the parking lot.) Please leave your four-legged friends at home. Thanks! BTW, most offenders are family members just visiting for the day. Please be sure to share this information with Grandma and Grandpa as well Auntie and Uncle.

Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center:

The OSC has extremely specific policies for field use. The main requirements are:
No Dogs
No Smoking
No Alcohol
Turf Fields: Platers and coaches only on field, no food and water only on fields

South Valley Middle School:

We are not allowed to sit on the track surrounding our field and we will lose our field permit, thereby ending our time in Gilroy if they see damage to the track. Please make sure to stay on the grass or blacktop. Thanks!

Rain Out Policy

A rain out day is declared when field and/or weather conditions present an unsafe environment for games to be played. Please note that doesn’t mean we won’t play if it is raining.  Our Rain Out Policy is:
All rain out games are made up
Rain Out GO/NO GO decision will be made Sunday morning

Given our late start this week, we can make our decision on Sunday morning. In the event of a Rain Out, an email will be sent to all families and coaches by Noon. If there is no email, we are playing.

Game Day Etiquette

We ask all teams, parents, fans and friends of the team to adhere to our game day guidelines:
Teams need to be waiting near the end zone of or on the field of their first games at least 5 minutes before game time.
Teams must occupy opposite sidelines during the game.
Teams should vacate their sideline immediately after their second game. Please remove all trash and recyclable products as well as equipment when leaving the field.
Each team is allowed three coaches on their respective sidelines during the game. Parents, friends and fans are invited to watch the game from the end zones or grandstands if we are at the OSC. No one except players and coaches are allowed on the sidelines.
No equipment is allowed between the fields. This includes coolers and chairs.

We ask everyone to provide positive encouragement to all players, coaches and officials. Even those on the other team.

The purpose of these guidelines is to keep our league on schedule, keep our kids safe and enhance everyone’s flag football experience. We expect and appreciate your support.

Buddy Policy

We believe sports are more fun with friends and flag football in The Five! is no different. This approach must be balanced with fairness and equal competition. Parents are allowed to request (1) Coach and (2) buddies per player. Every effort will be made to honor these requests. Exceptions include if doing so creates a competitive imbalance between teams or there are more players requesting a coach than can be accommodated. When this occurs, parents and the coach will be consulted before the roster is finalized. As a general rule, buddy requests will honored up to 60% of a team roster.
